From security and energy logistics to healthcare E. Perot Bissell drives board strategy at Acadia Healthcare

E. Perot Bissell, a director at Acadia Healthcare since April 2013, brings more than three decades of corporate finance, private equity and operational leadership to his board roles. His career spans high-growth rollups in energy logistics and security, plus senior positions in merchant banking and specialty finance.

Bissell’s track record includes leading Maxum Petroleum through an aggressive consolidation campaign that transformed the firm into one of the largest independent distributors of lubricants and diesel fuel in North America. As a board member and chief executive, he orchestrated 18 follow-on acquisitions, unified IT and back-office systems, executed multiple capital raises, rebranded the company, strengthened senior management and ultimately tripled sales prior to the 2012 sale to Pilot Flying J.

Earlier, while a partner at Northwest Capital Appreciation, he spearheaded the turnaround and growth of ASG Security. Under his oversight the company completed 33 follow-on acquisitions and grew recurring monthly revenue from roughly $900,000 to $3,000,000 in four years, culminating in a 2006 exit to Parthenon. Those transactions underpin Bissell’s reputation for executing complex consolidation strategies in the security and protection sector.

From late 2013 to mid-2015 he led Next Generation Energy Logistics as CEO, steering the private equity-backed platform through investment and operational initiatives in downstream energy logistics. He also served as Vice Chairman of Maxum Enterprises and held senior finance roles at SLP Capital, Bankers Trust, Drexel Burnham and Paine Webber, where he specialized in leveraged and structured finance across transportation, aerospace and defense.

Since joining Egis as a consultant in February 2015 and becoming a managing partner in August 2016, Bissell has continued advising on strategy and deal execution. His board service extends beyond Acadia Healthcare to private companies in energy and security, and he remains active on charitable boards.

Board observers cite his deep corporate finance background, proven M&A execution and operational acumen as key assets for companies navigating consolidation and growth. At Acadia Healthcare, those skills support governance and strategic oversight as the behavioral health provider pursues expansion and operational improvements.
